Cardigan Fancy

I love it! I'm still bitter over losing my favorite simple cardigan, yet i dont think it was ever as beautiful as this one by Filippa K. (pictured with White Voile Strap Dress).. Both found at the ever-so-lovely Frances May. sigh...

Fair

Ventured down to the San Diego County Fair last evening with these guys (listen! do it!) to watch another favorite local Carlsbad band (do it!) Alright im done promoting. But seriously, the show was amazing, and the fair is nothing but food cart after food cart of over-priced heart attacks..

out for the day-

Musing in California

Spending a few weeks in San Diego county, and I have spent just about every day at this WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL place.. Seriously, if you live in the area and haven't been here, well, you just should. Portland has some of the best coffee around, but this is one of those places that i wish i could pack and bring with me, but i suppose its just one of those things that can only exist charmingly in Encinitas..
All my love and then some,

Fathers Day

Never to this day have I met anyone stronger (or a better roadtrip companion). I love you Dad.

Because you've taught me that the point of things isnt simply to get from point A to point B, but to nourish the soul along the way.

Happy Father's Day,

Rachel

Somewhere in the Middle of Nowhere...

Taking a two-week hiatus from Portland and road-tripping to my San Diego hometown... No doubt i will be partaking in some much needed sun, missed friends, and serious fetch-playing.

Goodnight from Willows?

Home.

Photo : Our Labor of Love (courtesy: A Cup of Jo)
Even if its somewhere you've never been before, with people you've never met, Home is the place(s) where you can take your troubles off with your shoes, leave them by the door and say to them "hey, be patient. Ill be right back." Until youve found the perfect moment to quietly slip back in.

Slip Away,
Rachel

So Much Time..

Having no school is like having the biggest weight lifted, and I finally have time to do more of the things I enjoy... I hemmed jeans (not that hemming is incredibly enjoyable..), finishing up a fabulous book, wandered across a bridge, stole some roses- the usual! Maybe I'll even pick up a paintbrush soon!
Cheers to summer

counting down

2...1...summer. Because nothing else seems to be on my mind. I have already started compiling a list of things to do with all my time.. It's pretty skimpy so far, but here it is:

1. organize computer. (its a total mess)

2. visit the tin shed

3. gain better list-making skills.

cheers

Cleanse

This week has been crawling by so slowly, im at my last bit of energy with school, just one more week of cramming until freedom.
I must say, our new bathtub has proven to be quite the perfect place to soak very tired feet after a long day of walking.

Stay sane.

Follow you down to the Rose Parade...

People watching is one of my favorite things to do, and I have decided that downtown Portland on a summer evening is one of the best places to do so, especially during the city's festivities.

Another of my favorite things (hands down) is breakfast in the wee hours of the morning, and what better place than Steppingstone? The late-night weekend service is bad-ass (for lack of a better term)...
cheers!
