Making Space

Good morning early birds! Before I skip out for the day, I thought I would share a recent project.. I have really crumby shelf space in my room, so I took this cheap goodwill find and decided to fix it up a little.. I knocked out a few of the wooden pieces and stained the wood, then used an old roadmap of ohio as the backing... much better! It's a bit sparse now, but I'm on the search for trinkets!
Enjoy your tuesday

Rain Drops

I had no idea such vivid colors could exist naturally, let alone right outside our door..

In other news, I missed the street car this morning, and caught the rain instead... I usually prefer it the other way around.

Love,

Mylar

I have recently found myself with a lot of free time (kind of an understatement). So I got to work doing my favorite thing, painting.

I usually shy away from sharing paintings I am working on, and even ones I finish. I am trying hard to get over this fear of mine, so here is a peek at a painting I started a couple days ago:

mylar in progress

It is more of a brain exercise, working on separating my ideas from my eyes.

Do you like to share things you are working on? Or are you like me and like to keep everything under wraps?

hope you are having a good week!

One of THOSE days...

... And by those days, I mean completely normal. Espresso-my-god... I would like to thank Coffee House North West for being a block away and making addictions really very convenient. But its Saturday, so why not?

Portland Rain Hath Come!

So I spent a little time wanderin' around my cozy north west hood, so to speak, and I also managed to fit my run perfectly in an hour window free of rain! In other news for you curious minds, my hair fits snug in a tiny, messy but mighty ponytail. I like to think of it as a visual testament of my unbelievable will.

Autumnal Gifts

I can honestly say I have been getting my feet outside and on every terrain possible the past few days in a desperate attempt to hold on to a somewhat stable temperature. But, as I hear, a storm is a brewin! Nicole's wonderful aunt visited from the coast and knitted absolutely lovely hand warms to keep my paws toasty! A thousand thank-yous, Linda!

Anyway, keep warm!

Cork Board Makeover

So just about the only actually productive thing I did this weekend was to spruce up my inspiration board. After seeing this AMAZING renovation (via the lovely Cup of Jo), I decided to use the leftover fabric from my throw pillows, some fabric glue, and voilà! Granted, I can get a bit hasty, so I'm working on the "patience is a virtue" idea.. It is nice to have some cohesion in the room though.
Anyway, the highlight of my day was getting to pet an ENORMOUS mastif outside the store. I dont think my landlord would notice if I brought him home.
What was something that made you smile today?

Hectic

Photo: Life
Good morning and happy friday dear friends!

All I have to say is: what a week. What started out as an exciting past few days has resulted in some unfortunate events. I have been doing all I can to keep my head above the water, while reminding myself to swim. Those of you who have known me for a while know that the past half-decade or so my life has been full of running. For me, it is one thing I do everyday in order to keep my sanity. A chunk of time for me and nothing else, not for the stresses and fears that exist in all our lives, not for anyone or anything, just simply: because. I know if I dont go out everyday (sometimes forcibly) I will be laying in bed twiddling my thumbs and gritting my teeth at night.

So I ask, what are some things you do for yourself everyday? Walk your dog? Make your bed? Yoga? Paint? I would love to hear!
