so i saw this this morning and i liked it:
Bag of Money
@ Three Potato Four
Then I went to my sewing class and was looking at all the muslin lying around and thought, "hey..."
so i made a bag and went home and silkscreened on it
mine turned out quite a bit worse but yay!
edit:
here is the one i made as requested:
now that I think about it I probably should have put a the euro sign on it instead, next time!

Trees
"I know a poet who was totally ignorant about botany. And I said: you can't be a poet without knowing any botany or plants and things like that; it's impossible, that's the first thing you should know."
- cy twombly
this is probably my favorite book that I have from powell's. Published in 1934! I love the captions under the pictures, they are like poetry.
like "The Tattered Silky Bark of the Birches"
and "Shagbark Hickory is Known and Named by its Loose, Stripping Bark"
(click photos to make bigger)
anyway, this post is weird, i might be the only one who finds this interesting
anyway! have a good evening!

wise words
"It is said an Eastern monarch once charged his wise men to invent him a sentence, to be ever in view, and which should be true and appropriate in all times and situations. They presented him the words: "And this, too, shall pass away." How much it expresses! How chastening in the hour of pride! How consoling in the depths of affliction!"
-Abraham Lincoln

Illumination
So some of you may have already seen this, but i think its just about one of the coolest things ever. It is a project by a Russian design team and you can see more here.
Off to start the day!

So this is one of my absolute favorite photos. My lovely and very very talented friend Niko posted a stream of photos from her recent trip to Santa Cruz. I highly suggest you check them out... Her pictures are so charming, they definately want to make me throw a roadtrip into the cards!

Eggs In a Basket
Spent the day running around and enjoying the sights, sounds (and tastes) of the Farmers Market. Patience and support was much needed today, and I am very appreciative of the supportive people in my life.

Bread.
Breakfast this morning consisted of a delicious loaf of Almond Tea Bread that i recieved yesterday in the mail from my wonderful Mother.. Needless to say, the bread is no longer with us. I should really learn some self-control.

Spring Fever
Photo: Hulya Kolobas
Hello! My apologies for being rather elusive the past few days, spring fever has gotten the best of me! I have spent the majority of my time either cranking out last minute papers or basking in the soon-to-be-gone-again sun (the later being my favorite, of course). I took a little time yesterday chopping up some winter garb into cooler, summer-suited pieces. I must say, it was fun renewing some love into old clothes.Anway, i hope the warmth is reaching you all.

Exhaustion
It is only Tuesday and I am exhausted.
The last few days have been beautiful and sunny and lively. Probably why I am so tired.
This cat has the right idea:

Tree Prints
So this has been circling around the blogosphere for a while now but I'm putting it here incase you haven't seen it yet.
Bryan Nash Gill's Hemlock 82
In order to print it he runs his fingers over every inch of the paper pressing it onto the trunk. I love that it is going to be the exact size of the tree!
I would love to have this hanging on my wall. If only I had $4000!
This is a limited edition of 12 over at Ashes and Milk

Loveliness
So i just can't seem to ever pass by Portland Coffee House without stopping in (once again, total understatement).. alright, most of the time im on a direct b-line straight for the place. Sorry Stumptown, im partial to Panache.
Anyway, I spent the day over in Alberta with my dear friend Sydney picking up some finishing fabric for my Amy Butler A-line skirt. We stopped by a lovely bakery and enjoyed some super yummy pastries. Also, stopped in one of the best little shops in town.
Someone stop me from drooling all over the keyboard, even the darn reciepts are cute..

Jewelry Lust
I am a big fan of Erica Weiner's Jewelry:
I love the idea of her severely flawed quartz "Herkimer Diamond" rings, in the classic solitaire engagement setting!
Also, I love how she plays with the idea of functionality in her pieces:
A penknife necklace:
and a working mini-harmonica necklace:
Check out her online shop with more treasures!
